With the first full year in my position as President, we are continuing to see growth in the organization as we are now established in the community as the Land Mark of Caring. We call ourselves the Land Mark of Caring, and we continue to strive to be the best. We can, in a community that is so benevolent. 2012 was also the first full year of having a full time Executive Director’s position. Stacy Elia continues to bring dignity to our families, and her professionalism to her position is why the Grimsby Benevolent Fund is so successful.
We have also increased and strengthened our staff, with Morgan Elliott as Food Bank Coordinator and Roger Saldat as Retail Assistant. Barb Reynolds continues to go above and beyond with her countless hours of dedication in the accounting department. As you read through this report, you will see and understand the commitment that our staff gives to each program and department within the Grimsby Benevolent Fund. You will read how our staff are always making the Grimsby Benevolent Fund a better organization.
Volunteers!! We would not be who we are today if it were not for the great work that each and every great volunteer gives to the Grimsby Benevolent Fund. From cashiers, receiving, house wares, seasonal, speciality, toys, clothing, and furniture, we have the best volunteers. I am always amazed at how the volunteer community is so passionate towards our goal of hunger awareness and human dignity. So that all in the community can have the necessities of life.
At Board level we continue to govern the direction of the organization, and are always aware of the responsibility needed to be a vibrant part of the community. In closing I would like to thank the Grimsby Community, our Business Partners, Supporters, Board of Directors, Staff, and Volunteers for making 2012 another successful year in fulfilling our mission where no one goes hungry in Grimsby.
