GRIMSBY — With Peter Cottontail getting ready for his big day, the Grimsby Benevolent Fund is appealing to the public for some big help.

GBF is encouraging local businesses and individuals to get involved with the annual Easter appeal and food drive that is currently underway. This year families that use GBF will receive an Easter dinner hamper that includes a ham, produce and some treats for the young ones.

“Holidays are a difficult time of year for most, especially those who are facing financial hardship,” said Stacy Elia, executive director of GBF.

The goal this year is to raise $9,000 to buy enough food for the Easter program, and to collect enough food to help families get by the next few months.

Donor cards can be picked up at the GBF retail store.
