GRIMSBY — Enjoy a cup of tea while helping to feed local families.
The Grimsby Benevolent Fund is hosting its fourth annual Tea Social on Thursday, May 22 and will direct proceeds to its food bank. While in the past funds from the event have been used to support the capital campaign and programming, this year the funds have been earmarked to purchase food for the agency’s bare shelves.
“Our demand has increased immensely,” said GBF executive director Stacy Elia. “We are servicing a lot more families. We are not just emergency services anymore but part of the survival network for families.”
