Niagara Gateway Harmony Chorus Benefit Concert

Gateway Harmony
Bass Joe Merrltt, left, helps baritone Scott Durward, back and tenor Brian Flock, right wrap up the harmony supplied by tenor, Ryan lnch, front, during last year’s benefit. Don’t miss the Niagara Gateway Harmony’s annual concert featuring their musical friends on Dec.3.

A local men’s chorus is hopeful the community will be generous when attending their annual holiday concert Dec. 3.

The Niagara Gateway Harmony chorus asks for no admission fee for the concert, instead asking guests to open their hearts to two community organizations. Instead of admission, the chorus is asking for donations of non-perishable food items for the Grimsby Benevolent Fund or cash donations to West Niagara Second Stage Housing and Counselling. This is the eighth year for the concert.

Go TeIl it on the Mountains features the Niagara Gateway Harmony and guests, the St. Edward Elementary School choir, an a caplelIa ensemble from Great Lakes Christian High School, the Trinity Ringers from Trinity United Church in Grimsby, Grimsby Secondary School’s Vocal Express and Audacity, a champion women’s quartet representing Harmony Inc.

The group is grateful to its guest performers, all of whom have donated their time to the cause.

“We sing because we love to and are privileged to be able to do so”, said Bruce Herdman, chairman. “But it is the generosity of our patrons that enables us to assist those in our community when help is needed most.”

The concert takes place Tuesday Dec. 3a at the Mountain Ridge Community Centre 105 Mountain Rd., Grimsby at 7p.m.
