WHAT ARE THE REGULAR VOLUNTEERING HOURS
Flexible Volunteer Shifts – During Business Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 9:00am to 4:30pm
Friday: 9:00am to 8:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am to 4:30pm
While other volunteer opportunities exist outside of those hours, they are primarily for special projects and or events.
Please note that the Grimsby Benevolent Fund is closed on Sundays and on holidays other than scheduled activities.
WHAT IF OUR REGULAR OPERATING HOURS ARE NOT CONVENIENT FOR YOUR SCHEDULE?
There are several volunteer opportunities available at the Grimsby Benevolent Fund. Please speak with a staff member of your interest and availability.
If our regular business hours do not fit your schedule than you can choose to come in during our scheduled Public Food sort events. These typically occur during each of our three major Food drives ( Fall, Christmas and Spring).
CAN I CHOOSE MY VOLUNTEER ROLE?
There is a variety of tasks that volunteers can complete on any given day. The staff will assist you in making the right choices that best fits your interest as well as the needs of our facility.
DO I HAVE TO SCHEDULE A TIME TO COME IN TO VOLUNTEER OR CAN I JUST DROP IN WHEN I HAVE TIME?
We encourage all volunteers to sign up on our schedule in advance. This allows us to work effectively and efficiently, as it will allow us to determine the highest priority tasks for the day based on the availability of volunteers. You can schedule daily, weekly or monthly volunteer shifts for yourself or your group.
CAN I BRING A GROUP?
We welcome corporate teams, schools, service groups and church group participation. Our volunteer projects can accommodate groups of various sizes and can provide team-building opportunities. Groups must schedule in advance.
CAN STUDENTS VOLUNTEER AT GRIMSBY BENEVOLENT FUND?
Any individual aged 14 and under wishing to come to Grimsby Benevolent Fund to volunteer independently of a school or community group must be accompanied by an adult and must bring with them a Grimsby Benevolent Fund Student application signed by a parent or guardian.
CAN I COMPLETE COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS FOR MY REQUIRED SCHOOL HOURS AT GRIMSBY BENEVOLENT FUND?
